Deck the Paws

As "faithful friends who are dear to us, gather near to us once more", there's often a mad dash to find activities to make the quality time all the more special. What if I told you I had some fun, easy family-friendly ideas that I'm sure your dog would approve of too?


Chuck the screens and try out one (or all) of these 5 dog-safe holiday treats you can make with your loved ones:


1. Peanut Butter and Pumpkin Biscuits

  • Gather ingredients: pumpkin puree, peanut butter, whole wheat flour

  • Preheat oven to 350°F

  • Mix ingredients to form dough

  • Roll out dough and cut into shapes

  • Bake for 30 minutes


2. Sweet Potato Chews

  • Gather ingredients: sweet potatoes

  • Preheat oven to 250°F

  • Slice sweet potatoes into thin strips

  • Arrange on baking sheet

  • Bake for 3 hours until chewy


3. Apple Bites

  • Gather ingredients: applesauce & oat flour

  • Preheat oven to 350°F

  • Mix ingredients to form dough

  • Roll into small balls

  • Bake for 20 minutes


4. Carrot and Banana Treats

  • Gather ingredients: carrots, bananas, oat flour

  • Preheat oven to 350°F

  • Mash bananas and grated carrots together

  • Mix with oat flour to form dough

  • Shape into small rounds and bake for 25 minutes


5. Cranberry and Oat Cookies

  • Gather ingredients: dried cranberries, oats, coconut oil

  • Preheat oven to 325°F

  • Chop cranberries and mix with oats and melted coconut oil

  • Drop spoonfuls onto baking sheet

  • Bake for 15 minutes

  • Enjoy these homemade treats with your furry friend this holiday season!
